How to be the Best Cook in the World

How to be the Best Cook in the World
I can't believe I'm sharing this with you, because we can't ALL be the best cook in the world, but I'm feeling generous today.

You want to be the best cook ever?

One word.  Aoli.

Learn to make this, and your people will lap up your food and sing your praises.

A good aoli is so easy to make and will elevate a simple food  so much,  you'll be shocked when your $18 burger at the trendy restaurant only has plain old mayonnaise.  Serve this with your favorite fish, even in a toasted corn tortilla with sliced cabbage and salsa or pico de gallo.   Or, do like I did today, and use up a bunch of sliced turkey in some amazing grilled sandwiches.   This would be delicious with grilled veggies too!

You know what else?  It's sooooo easy!

Aoli, aka, Magic Sauce

1 cup mayonnaise (choose a vegan brand if you're plant-based)
good squeeze of lemon or lime
1-2 cloves garlic, pressed
1-2 drops Young Living Lime Vitality essential oil  (just trust me on this one...it won't make it taste limey, just magical)
Freshly ground pepper

Stir all this together.

This is good enough, just like that.   But, if you really want to shake things up, add some finely chopped fresh herbs.
Sorry it's almost gone...I didn't think to take a pic til it was too late!

Today, I added chopped basil to my aioli, spread it on two slices of gluten free bread and put a slice of cheese on top of the aoli (sheep's milk Manchego for my kiddos that can't do cows milk and cheddar for the rest).  I stuffed the middle with sliced turkey, buttered the outside of the sandwich, and grilled until the bread was brown and the cheese was melty.  It doesn't look like much, but the kids were pretty sure it was the tastiest sandwich they'd eaten in their whole lives.
a bit messy, but you get the idea
